We research and obtain Wills registered in England, Wales and Scotland. We are able to trace most Wills and our charges are £25.95 for a Will left in England or Wales and £34.95 for a Will left in Scotland. Most Wills are available from 1858 to present day but if you require a Will prior to this, we can still undertake the search and identify if one is available. Alternatively telephone one of our Will & Probate researchers for a confidential discussion. We have online access to determine whether probate has been granted in many cases. Our Will researchers have experience on matters relating to the three types of Grant of Representation:
Probate : granted to the
executors named in the Will
Letter of Administration
with Will: granted to someone other than an executor
when the deceased left a valid Will
Letters of Administration:
granted when the deceased did not leave a Will.
Our Will researchers also
have knowledge of:
Bona vacantia - when
someone dies without leaving a Will and has no immediate
family.
Rules of Intestate and
distribution of Intestate estates.
Lodging Wills for safe
keeping
Caveat - a procedure to
prevent probate issuing in an estate without giving the
caveator the opportunity to liaise with the person
applying for probate or make representations to court.
Scottish Ancestors? Using just your ancestors name, we can identify from the Scottish Register of Sasines - their property and land interests, when purchased, sold, and all of the transactions including copies of the original transactional deeds if required.
Registry of Sasines Scotland - The Register of Sasines or the Sasine register is an historical register of deeds affecting land and property. A search of this register is available by name or property address and provides a history of transactions affecting individual properties. It contains all the recorded Minutes (precis of deeds) in chronological order so it can provide a history of a property, eg its owners, charges, mortgages, etc. This document can be particularly interesting for genealogists as it will contain information about people, their addresses, what & when they purchased, etc - it is possible to search just by name and county. Therefore, if you are unsure where your ancestors lived, we are able to identify just from their name and county which properties they owned and when. Earlier information is also available back to 1878 and in some cases 1617. We are able to supply you a copy of the actual original imaged document and the current computerised search sheet. The cost for a full search of the Register of Sasines is £28.99 this includes a copy of the original Sasine sheet, results being delivered by email very quickly. Other records such as Deeds of sale or purchase, grants, etc are available - at very reasonable rates. A Sasines search will highlight what other documents relating to the history of a property are available.
We can also undertake this search just from a persons name - we can tell you which properties they owned and when - order the Sasine and provide the name details of the person you want researched.
